Everybody
smokes weed, or damn near.
You can’t go to any hood right now and the smell
of ganja ain’t thick in the air. |

|
| The
pressures of living in this bullshit system have almost
everyone of us rolling up something to get high. Out
of the many things that can be used to get blazed, by
far smoking blunts is as popular as it gets. Brothers
and sisters alike start and finish our days with blunt
after blunt, like it was water. With so much use of
blunts it’s important to be hip to what it is
we are enjoying so much. The more we know and understand
about what it is we are doing, the better we can defend
our rights to do it or avoid any dangers. |
Have you ever been about to smoke some weed and didn’t
have no "l" to roll it up in? Some body might
have some rolling papers but you were like "naw, dog
i need a back wood or a dutch or worst come to worst at
least a white owl or swisher sweet! What is it about that
blunt that makes us crave it just as strong as we crave
the weed?
Nicotine is a chemical found naturally in tobacco. When
tobacco is smoked, the amount of nicotine is increased.
Once you smoke so many blunts, your body begins to crave
the nicotine in the blunts. This is because when nicotine
hits the system it triggers the release of a chemical called
Epinephrine that stimulates your nerves, raises your heart
rate and pumps up your adrenaline…sounds like some
good sex, huh? As a result, dopamine is released by your
brain. Dopamine is the chemical that creates the sensation
of pleasure in your brain. This chemical and mental effect
of pleasure that nicotine has on the body is why so many
people develop tobacco habits and use it to cope with the
boredoms, stresses and anxieties of life.
So nicotine is what we are craving when we gotta have that
blunt. But besides nicotine every blunt has over 4,ooo other
harmful chemicals. Carbon monoxide and tar are two of the
most gangsta. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that gets
in the blood stream and decreases the flow of oxygen to
the heart and the brain. This can cause diseases to develop
in the heart and brain. Its presence in the blood stream
also causes cholesterol build up which increases the risk
of a heart attack. Tar is a toxic ingredient that sits in
the lungs and contributes to the development of throat and
lung infections. It blocks the lungs’ natural process
of cleansing themselves, and leaves them raw and defenseless
to all types of germs and diseases. Including everything
from bronchitis all the way to cancer! In addition, smoking
tobacco causes the bile salts in the intestines to move
to the stomach. This intensifies the acids in the stomach
and they begin to form ulcers in the stomach lining. If
you smoke a lot of blunts, you get colds more often, you
have more throat related illnesses and your immune system
in general, is compromised.
So
how do you get blazed without smoking blunts? There are
many "highly-rated" alternatives. Making a tea
instead of rolling a blunt will save you that backwood money.
A water bong, a "cool" alternative. Dried corn
husk. You can even carve out a narrow tunnel in an apple,
and make a edible pipe. Seriously, it has been ,,,well,
let’s just say …tested to perfection. If u have
a little chef skills about you ,u can make just about any
dish imaginable with a ganja spike. Cookies , pies, brownies,
spaghetti sauce; you name it. And last but not least some
good old hemp rolling papers (skirts-as we call them), They
bring out the taste of the ganja that gets hidden by the
overpowering tobacco flavor.
Or you could not smoke at all…
yeah right…
Now, it is important to make
clear that even these alternatives can have health repercussions
so if you give a shit about your health it’s necessary
to analyze everything that goes into your system, and let
your own discoveries guide what u do or don’t do.
In the world right now there
is war going on all around us. Some wars we are aware of,
others we are not. The health war is one of those battles
that no one can afford to lose. So if you take the luxury
of getting high on as a habit, be mindful of the health repercussions…we
need all our soldiers as strong as possible. Ya heard?
Now, ‘scuse me while I
light my spliff…
No, seriously …
remember getting high all the time might be gangsta but "it’s
soldier to be sober"…
We’ll
holla. R-B-G love.
